Let Go, Move On

I climbed the rooftop and roared,' No, laughter is not good for me'. And took it seriously till my neck broke one day.

Life has turned into a whirlwind today. Sooner we learn to churn with this whirlwind, we feel as if marvelously moving in rocket speed. But, we least bother about its consequences, when we carry home loads of fatigue, bad moods and hoards of stress, to collapse on our beds.

With little care, we will find, life we so value otherwise, turns miserable because we are missing to understand the factors creating such miserable state.

While looking back, we see how our weekend Sundays had been mood booster, stress-buster days, those we always  cherish till date. Glued to television watching marvelous silly performances of Lucille Ball in, 'I love Lucy', or unparalleled silent clown, Charlie Chaplin, or Hollywood comedians, Laurel and Hardy in 'Little Tramp'. Those serials lifted our bad moods and left all our stress at bay, rekindling our spirits, to hold ourselves high, preparing us to accept challenges in the forth coming week. Thus  we can claim,

" Yes laughter is truly...truly good for mental health."

'Let Go and Move On', is my adventure to watch funny side of life and my fantasy world, for 'Laughing is healthy, it boosts mental health.'

Hilarious Travel Episode

" It Cracks! Yes, It Does Crack..."

The young voice crackles, after watching trio on glass walk, clutched hands, faltering steps, toppling.....

' Ra pa ra pa, ra pa ra pa ', heart singing song, a troop of trio, a married couple and another free spirited travel freak set out one early morning at 3.00 hour, to realize a dream, they have long cherished. Their spirit rocketing high, land ultimately at the grand gate of  The Skywalk, Grand Canyon, USA.

Faces glowing like bright balloons, not minding roller coaster helicopter ride reach the coveted destination, overhauling many thinking them, their competitors, like marathon runners.

" Don't mind others, we have come from afar"

as their philosophy now, hands moving speedily like bullet train wheels, get ready with lens and flashes to click the world famed spot.

" We can't miss the entry first!"

" Yeah! Having spent Four hundred & eighty American dollars, is not a joke after all; we hold every right to enter first!"
Broods one, watching the entry with searching light eyes, not allowing anyone first.
While jostling for entry, they never have had imagined what would happen next.

As they are about to get through the gate, high throated voice calls out
" Hey! No, n...o cameras dangling",
A guard, double chinned, double in size, stop them.

"What? No........no!",
Protests one, in shrieking voice as if a hurt string of a guitar. The other, unable to believe her ears, gets electric shock turning into a statue.

The guard quickly responds, saying,
" We shoot you,..you don't", and he winks.

"Why martyr us?...we have come this far from India...Taj Mahal", justifies the man though
in utter confusion, as if they are truly shot dead.
Unable to grasp what the guard has been trying to say.

"Indies, or West Indies...you drop lenses and I a..l..l..o..w you",
comes the final orders and the guard gets busy in checking other visitors, letting the trio to decide.

The lady of the couple, has been hearing the conversation in immovable state, statue like, now wails out, showing true sign of life.

"What will I show to Mrs. Sharma?", She cries aloud
imagining the mocking by one of her neighbors with a sharp tongue. She then words out her neighbor's speech-

"Have you gone for Skywalk or Elephant ride? she will tease",
and the lady places her hands over her ears, her face a measurably wrinkled, as if tasting a rotten mango.

Meanwhile, her man  unable to lose the final battle in their errand, takes a two meter leap towards the guard, but dares not reach his shoulder and grab it, for being half in size, begins taking rounds around him, making funny gestures with his hands so as to draw the guard's attention, ultimately stops him from checking the visitors.

The guard stops checking, two furrows appear between his eyebrows, he then cranes his neck towards the man and remarks,
"We shoot you...there", pointing to the Skywalk, and further,
"Skywalk snap for you, like a Hollywood star".

                          "Ah, Ha.., you smart fellow".
The man sighs in relief, his lips wide open, stretching from edge to edge of his face. A good laugh boosts mood. It
doesn't matter now being the last two visitors to get onto the skywalk, for the battle seems finally ended.
The guard shows his thumb up, for he knows that he has won in the war of words, without spending a penny. A super, duper, deal maker like all other Americans.

Triumphed in Hippy dance, the man returns, happily places his arm around his lady's shoulder, imagining himself as another Travolta.

This hasn't been enough, the final bolt is yet to come. A security woman hands them on frilled bags. The couple's eyeballs gobble out of their sockets, indicating that they haven't the least idea, what to do with the frilled bags. The woman in-charge shows her shoe and tells to put them on. Without any words the troop follow her instructions.

Putting on the disposable, soft, fabric shoes are mandatory for protecting the glass floor from scratches usually made by the sole of shoes.

They begin their maiden voyage in funny, baggy, frilled, disposable shoes on the glass floor of the Skywalk. Panda like, swinging from side to side. Their feet slipping now and then, comforting one another
" Hey be slow! ..."

It is now 10.00 a.m. They have battered over seven hours to be on their dream spot, but fail to enjoy as they watch the scary gaping trench of Canyon beneath the glass floor.
Many visitors turn back to watch them, pass their smile, while the trio toppling, lifting, swinging panda walk, hum,

" Don't sink ,brave hearts, push on..you can do!", in spirit.

Looking at trio's innovative catwalk on Skywalk ramp, someone comments...,
"It breaks....."
"Yes, it does break.."

The remark waving through the air reaches the lady, her walk, a wobbly door against a torrent wind starts wavering. Her heavy body whirls down to the floor. But, how can that happen, in presence of a warrior, her man? He leaps up, a two meter high jump, grabs her arms ,his lips twisted to three sixty degree angle, as if pulling a fifty ton canon from a well.

Meanwhile, the third one in the troop, the free spirit, turns back to check the fella, originator of the comment. Her stare, of a wild cat, hits  hard a fellow in his twenties leaning against the Skywalk railing and watching them.

She growls," Hey, you..."

" Oh!.. though sometimes.." the young fellow blurts out,

"Don't you dare another...w..o..r..d!'' comes the sharp reply

Hearing her say that, the young fellow mends, saying

" Oh! That's a joke, just a simple joke.'' his eyes full of naughty smile.

And then breaks into  a loud laughter, realizing his prank, has been cracked and he holds no more chance to continue. His girl friend joins in to lift the bad mood that has set in.
Obviously, a smile always creates another smile, and the trio too smile back, a friendly smile is so contagious in bringing people together. Laughter is a good medicine. Laughter works well for mental well being.

While travelling from East Coast to West Coast, in the United States, I have come across many Americans, who are naturally friendly, jovial, ready to accommodate others. Such gregarious people have made our touring errands more memorable and joyful.

Adventures are timeless tonics for life. At times spicy, the thrills they bring, here ,and, there awaken us from slumber. Adventures snooze out our boredom and all negativity. So never stop yourself from taking the risks in adventuring like another Columbus, the greatest explorer of all times.
